Website evaluation:
How well the product meets your original intentions?
My website meets all of my original intentions, when i looked back at my storyboards I created and agreed on with the client for the final layout and style of the website. I have made few minor changes to the design. I changed the layout of the website like the background, its white colour or has an image as the background. I think the target audience would find this website easy to use/navigate and informative on for travelling needs. The technical qualities of the website are good, the website navigates well and there aren’t any issues that I know of technically as i have double checked all of the buttons, however I do feel that if I had added an animation like 'gifs' then may have been more appealing. In terms of aesthetic qualities of the website, my opinion is that it looks professional; especially the homepage and the places page, although there is a lot on the pages that are the places it all works well and doesn’t look too overpowering. For the colour scheme i have used multi-colours as it will look vibrant and hopefully will catch the attention of viewers. For content, I feel it could possibly be a little more on topic; i didn't mention much about the places just the basic. For the style of the website as a whole, I feel that it is very consistent, there isn’t a page that looks as if it doesn’t belong on the website and all assets used help the consistent style and anything doesn't stand out too much from anything, as i chose them to suit the website.
An overview of the production process?
Planning was maybe the one aspect that wasn’t really taken into account during the production process; I did have a teacher telling me when the project was to begin and the deadline date, however there wasn’t any planning of each stage or what the pages would look like or what i wanted to have done by a certain point. I only knew that I had a about a month and it needed to be completed to deadline. I wasn’t given much time to collect all the assets together aswell, also didn't have much time to be creating assets on Photoshop because i had to gather everything together beforehand which means I wasn’t that prepared when I began creating the website. In terms of preparation and knowing how to use the software, I made it using Flash and i know the basics of how to use this software however i would've liked to have known how to put 'gifs' and audio files into flash as i think it would make my website look more interesting.
How well I managed my time?
Once I knew that I was going to use Flash, to organise myself for all the pages I had to create, I went and made each page individually and added the assets(buttons, text etc) onto them as went along- before moving on to the next page. Overall the management of the project was organised thought out, I completed the website in about 3/4 working days which was in good time to finish my website.
